    Greetings Peter,
Yesterday I borrowed The Wreck of the Amsterdam from a friend and was impressed. My interest in VOC ships comes from the Tasman Expetitions of 1642 and 1644.
I have convenedsince the 1990’s annual commemmorations of the charting of Van Dieman’s Land by Tasman , Visscher, Gilsemans etc ,of the Heemskerck and Zaehan at Dunalley Tasmania, the township closest to their only anchorage and l landings on our Coastline . We also had a lovely one day conference in 2006 ,The final event of “Australia on the Map”, an Australian -Netherlands recognition of the charting starting with the Duyfken’s visit to the Gulf of Carpentaria in 1606.
When I have read more of your book, especially the appendices would you accept some questions about VOC archives and general organisation of ships and crews.
    Sincerely, Margaret Long
