This detailed description of the remains of King Henry VIII’s warship that had sunk off Portsmouth in July 1545, is followed by a reconstruction of what the ship looked like before her rebuild in 1536, and after that time. Each deck, cabin and feature is described, as well as her ballast, galley and rigging. Why and how she sank is examined, and future lines of research are outlined.
